Elise Watten is a passionate violin and viola teacher from Norway.
Since completing her Master’s degree at the Royal College of Music in 2022, she has worked with various schools and Music Hubs across London, including Hackney New Primary School, the Tri-Borough Music Hub, and Lambeth Music Service. She has experience teaching students of all ages and abilities. Alongside preparing many students for ABRSM exams, she also enjoys incorporating elements of the Suzuki and Kodály methods into her teaching.
Although classically trained, Elise performs and teaches in a variety of genres, including folk, jazz, and pop. Her broad knowledge of different musical styles keeps lessons varied and engaging, helping students play at their best and find greater fulfilment by performing music they enjoy.
When she isn’t teaching, Elise is a busy freelance musician, performing with orchestras such as the Fidelio Orchestra, Brixton Chamber Orchestra, and London Firebird Orchestra. She has also taken part in recording sessions at renowned studios including Abbey Road and Angel Studios.
